Story Project is a community art project where people share honest stories about their lives. It’s a space for honoring the real stories of who we are, both the hard and the beautiful.

I used to live near a park with a hill that I loved to jog up in the mornings. At the top of the hill there was a bench where people would sit and reflect—sometimes with a partner, sometimes alone. I always wondered who they were, where they came from, and what their lives were like.

One morning I left a blank notebook on the bench. On the cover I wrote a simple prompt: “Share your story”.

When I went back the next day, I was amazed to see the pages brimming with stories—stories of joy, loss, hope, and heartbreak.

It made me realize everyone has a story they want to share.

I’d left tens of notebooks and collected hundreds of handwritten stories before moving the project online during the pandemic.
